Two Stars and A Wish

In order to progress further with our work, we did a peer assessment where we had to present a minute long presentation to 5 other people on our table, explaining our chosen interest and where we hope to end up when our project is finished. At first I was quite nervous about presenting my work to a table of people that I don't particularly know as I am not the most confident person in the world, however by the end of it I felt confident about presenting my work and felt I could progress and complete it to my best standard using the advice given to me by my peers. We were all given a sheet where we were to give 'two stars and a wish' to our peers, giving two compliments to the work and some constructive feedback to help improve. I felt this was a particular useful way in order to provide feedback as not all people feel comfortable presenting to a group, no matter how small and not everyone feels comfortable giving feedback as they are afraid they might offend. So to present feedback in this manner makes you feel like there is a lot less pressure on you to critique and present work. Below is what the group said about my presentation:

- Website looks great with theme and layout

- Collages present theme well and represent fashion in a nice way

- Make each decade stand out and look different to the others

- Great website with good details - looks professional, great use of tools on website

- Interesting collages with common theme

- Love creative aspects on website

- Good collage, simplistic but effective

- Theme of collages link with film

- Research more into film - certain films in each era

- House style for collages compliments theme

- Dedicating each era to and actor and actress and their fashion

- Is there a counterpart for each era? Does their style vary?

- Amazing website

- Unique and interesting compositions - photoshop

- Add more Instagram pictures

I am very proud of my work after receiving this feedback from my peers as before presenting I wasn't too sure if it was actually interesting or any good. Now I feel confident that I am heading in the right direction and in order to improve I will make sure I take on the feedback given and use it effectively. The things I am particularly going to look into is the varying of style within each era and how I can make each decade stand out against another and look different. I am adding pictures to my Instagram throughout my project so I'm not too worried about that, however I am going to start uploading the decade photos very soon as I have now collected them all. I will also continue to keep making collages that are a consistent theme, yet manage to make each decade look different to the others.

Overall, I am happy that we did this peer task as my confidence has grew a little bit and as this is something that has always affected me throughout my life, I feel proud that I was able to do the presentation.
