Stella McCartney
For the second part of the module, we have been asked to design a creative marketing brand audit. The brand I was given was Stella McCartney which I was happy about as I had already done some research about her in the previous poster task.
Here are some of the facts, and a timeline, I found out about the designer and brand heritage.
Mother – Linda McCartney, animal rights activist, vegetarian food range.
Father – Paul McCartney – former Beatles member.
46 Years Old
Stella began making her own clothes when she was just 13 years old. She had an internship with Christian Lacroix. Degree in fashion design – Kate Moss, Yasmin Le Bon and Naomi Campbell modeling for her final year show (Something to do with her being Paul McCartney’s daughter?)
Well-known for her sharp tailoring with a feminine edge.
She is a supporter of animal rights and a strict vegetarian, meaning she doesn’t use leather or fur in any designs of hers. Shoes are made from vinyl or plastic and her belts and bags are made from raffia and fabric.
She has a husband – Alasdhair Willis and her four children.
In 1997 she was appointed creative director of Parisian fashion house Chloe, succeeding Karl Lagerfield.
In April 2001 it was confirmed Gucci Group (PPR Luxury Group) teamed up with Stella to develop her own label as a global luxury brand - "In Gucci Group, I have found a partner with the skills necessary to make this business a success.
